Flashing Procedure

Steps to Follow

  1. Enter Recovery Mode: Place your system into recovery mode. (See Important Flashing Instructions below.)
  2. Connect the Device: Attach your device to the host computer using an appropriate USB-A cable connected to the Host Port.
  3. Run the Flash Script: Execute the jetpack-flash.sh script with the appropriate settings. Although running the script as root is not recommended, you may be prompted for sudo credentials during execution.

Important Flashing Instructions:

Host System Requirements:

  • The host computer must be running Ubuntu.
  • NVIDIA scripts have been verified with Ubuntu 20.04 & 22.04
  • Ubuntu 24.04 has not yet been verified with the NVIDIA scripts.

Commissioning Tool & APX Mode:

  • Before flashing, from a powered OFF state, ensure that your commissioning tool is in place to put the unit into APX mode.
  • Enable power to the Cardshark unit.

Proper Cabling:

Connect a cable from the host computer to the Host/HST Port of the Cardshark before powering up the device.

Compatible cables are:

  • USB-A to 12-pin ODU AMC® HD connector
  • USB-C to 12-pin ODU AMC® HD connector

Verification:

Verify that the unit is in APX mode by running lsusb on the host computer.

The lsusb output should contain NVIDIA Corp. APX or a similarly named device.


BSP (Board Support Package) Support

The tool supports different BSPs based on the provided board ID. Supported values include:

  • 830-01750-00 or cardshark for Cardshark systems.
